Fisher Scientific Breathing Air Cylinder Service Program
Trained Fisher Scientific technicians service and repair OEM air cylinders used by major SCBA manufacturers.
Description
- Routine air cylinder checks and maintenance require frequent visual inspections to assess, repair, or remove damaged cylinders from use.
- Cylinders also need to undergo periodic hydrostatic testing (every three years for fiberglass-wrapped and every five years for carbon-fiber wrapped) and must be replaced every 15 years.
- Department of Transportation (DOT) hydro test is an approved method to assess the structural integrity of a compressed gas container, like an SCBA air cylinder.
- The hydro procedure uses pressure stress testing to locate any signs of weakness, failure to hold up to high pressure levels, and leaks within the cylinder.
- Fisher Scientific technicians can ensure that your Luxfer and SCI OEM air cylinders are operating as defined by the manufacturer while meeting applicable NFPA, OSHA, and DOT requirements.
- Air cylinder service menu includes:
- DOT hydrostatic testing
- Valve overhauls and repairs
- Grade E breathing air refills per NFPA standards
