Students identify and differentiate the various stages in mitosis and meiosis.

  • Onion root tips are stained to identify the various stages and duration of mitosis
  • Meiosis and Crossing Over in Sordaria is also demonstrated in this experiment
  • Students will also have an opportunity to analyze mechanisms involved with the loss of cell cycle control in cancer
