Description
Safe drinking water is vitally important to health. Both pathogenic and harmless bacteria can be found in the guts of mammals and birds. Presence of coliforms in water is an indicator of fecal contamination.
- Testing for coliforms, including E. coli, using color and fluorescent reagents
- Extension activity includes Gram Stain test that can be performed on the collected samples
- Test duration: complete in 30 minutes and grow overnight
