1. Extraction of DNA from buccal cells
2. Amplifying the segment that contains the polymorphic nucleotide
3. Digestion of the amplified fragment with the restriction enzyme that recognizes the SNP
4. Analysis by gel electrophoresis
5. Tasting the PTC paper to confirm the results obtained
