Invitrogen™ β-Gal Staining Kit

Description
Includes
Sufficient reagents to stain fifty 60mM plates. The kit includes 10X PBS (phosphate buffered saline), X-gal, staining solutions A, B, and C, 10X fixative solution, and 10μg of pcDNA 3.1/His/lacZ control vector.
- lacZ is bacterial gene often used as reporter construct in eukaryotic transfection experiments
- Gene product of lacZ, β-galactosidase, is resistant to proteolysis in cellular lysates, and its activity is easily assayed
- β-galactosidase catalyzes hydrolysis of X-gal, producing a blue color that can be easily visualized under microscope
- Colorimetric detection
