Description
Solvents with boiling points not exceeding 85°C (185°F) may be used. Process involves placing sample between boiling solvent and cold surface. As boiling continues, solvent vaporizes, condenses on cold surface and washes down through sample into boiling solvent below. Solvent chamber is a beaker which is weighed before extraction begins and after final evaporation. Difference between these two weighings indicates amount of extract. Process takes four hours.
