It acts as a catalyst in the preparation of 1,3,5-trisubstituted pyrazoles derivatives, selenated ketene dithioacetals, triazoloquinazolinone and benzimidazoquinazolinone derivatives. It also serves as an intermediate in the esterification and in reductive amination reactions.
