Invitrogen™ Newport Green™ DCF Diacetate, cell permeant

Has moderate zinc-binding affinity (Kd for Zn2+ approximately 1μM) but is essentially insensitive to Ca2+
Supplier: Invitrogen™ N7991

Description
- Kd for Ca2+ >100μM), making this valuable probe for detecting Zn2+ influx into neurons through voltage- or glutamate-gated channels
- When used alongside dyes with dual Ca2+ / Zn2+ sensitivity such as fura-2 and mag-fura-2, provides confirmation that changes in Zn2+ levels, and not Ca2+ or Mg2+ are being detected
- The response to transition metals, including Zn, Mn, Fe, Co, Cu(I), Cu(II), Ni and Cd, has been characterized
- Label (Ex/Em): Newport Green DCF (approximately 505/535nm)
- Kd (Zn2+) (in buffer): approximately 1μM
- Lyophilized product may be dissolved in DMSO for use
- Product is typically loaded into cells by adding dissolved indicator to medium containing cells
